SPMU Brow Pre & Post Appointment - Help & Advice

SPMU BROWS IN GRANTHAM – APPOINTMENT INFORMATION

All SPMU Brow, Microblading and Microshading procedures are completed in two stages:

  1. The initial treatment
  2. A top-up treatment one month later.

All SPMU appointments take place in my lovely studio space at 7 Cold Harbour Ln, Grantham NG31 9EW.
Prices start at £295 and all prices include an initial consultation, a skin patch test, the procedure itself and a top-up appointment 5-10 weeks later.
Subsequent top-up appointments will be billed separately.
A deposit of £50 will be taken when you book with the remaining balance due on the day of your first appointment.
Once your booking is confirmed, I will post a skin patch test which you will need to complete before your appointment.
Your first appointment will last up to 3 hours as it includes your consultation as well as time for the actual treatment. The top-up treatment will normally last no longer than 1 ½ hours.
If you usually wear make-up, it is useful that you do so on the day of your appointment to give me an idea of how you normally do your eyebrows and what kind of look you are hoping to achieve.

SPMU Brow Post-appointment Care

  • Be careful not to get the area wet for the first 7-14 days. Apply a layer of post care cream or wear a visor whilst in the shower and turn your face away from the water.
  • Avoid any swimming activities for the first 7-14 days
  • Do not carry out any strenuous exercise for at least a week
  • Steer clear of steam. Avoid hot tubs, hot baths, saunas or jaccuzis for at least a week.
  • Avoid sun tanning and/or salon tanning for the first 10 days after your treatment (Please bear in mind if you have a holiday booked)
  • Avoid applying make up in the area until it is fully healed.
  • Keep the area around the brows clean until fully healed by applying witch hazel and dabbing with a cotton pad.
  • Other than gentle cleaning, try to avoid touching the area around the eyebrows until fully healed.
  • Avoid any laser or chemical treatments and avoid using creams which have retinols or glycolic acids on the face and neck.
  • Do not pick, rub or scub at the scab that forms and allow it to flake off by itself. Picking or scratching at your eyebrows may lead to scarring or removal of the pigment.
  • Once fully healed, please be sure to apply SPF 30 to your eyebrows when exposed to sun as exposure may cause them to fade quicker.

The SPMU Brow Healing Process

The semi-permanent tattoo brow healing process works in multiple stages. Throughout this time, colour change or colour loss is to be expected as the skin heals. The true colour will not come though until about 4 weeks, which is when your touch-up appointment will be due.
  • Day 1-2: Some redness, tenderness or swelling can be expected for up to 48 hours after the procedure. Otherwise, your brows will be looking great!
  • Day 2-5: Your brows will begin to look much darker and thicker than originally intended. Don’t worry, this is totally normal.
  • Day 5-10: Your brows will start to scab over and flake off. Try not to panic, this is all part of the healing process and please don’t pick at them.
  • Day 10: Your brows will be healed enough to get them wet, so you can shower / swim / exercise as normal.
  • Day 10-15: Your brows may look very light, or the colour may have disappeared entirely. Colour change or colour loss throughout the first 4 weeks is perfectly normal, so try not to worry.
  • Day 15-30: The colour may be a little patchy, otherwise your brows are back!
  • Day 30: Touch up day = brow perfection

SPMU BROW FURTHER READING – GENERAL FAQ’s

Although similar, SPMU Brows are not the same as getting a regular tattoo. Unlike traditional tattoos, tiny, hairlike incisions are only made on the outer layer of the skin. This means that, over time, microbladed or microshaded brows will eventually fade.

Be it microblading, powder brows, ombre or combination brows, most semi-permanent tattoo brows tend to last anywhere between 1 to 3 years. This can vary, though, depending on a range of factors such as skin type, lifestyle, genetics, medications, and sun exposure – so it is impossible to give an exact timescale.

Most people who receive a SPMU Brow treatment report very little (if any) pain. A numbing cream and anesthetic are used during the procedure to minimize any pain, and I always take great care to ensure my clients are relaxed and comfortable.

Categorically no! Eyebrows do not need to be shaved off before any Microblading or SPMU brow treatment. Microblading and tattoo brow treatments are designed to work alongside your natural brow to enhance shape, add fullness, boost definition, and create long lasting colour.

I believe that the most beautiful brows are crafted to suit not only face shape, but lifestyle too. This is why I always take the time to get to know each one of my clients. We’ll chat about what you like and don’t like about your brows, what challenges you have with your brows, what you’d like to change and what your dream brows look like. With my full range of cosmetic tattoo services, I am confident your perfect brows are only a booking away.
