SPMU Lip Blush Pre & Post Appointment – Help & Advice

SPMU Lip Blush IN GRANTHAM – APPOINTMENT INFORMATION

All Semi-Permanent Lip Blush appointments are completed in two stages:

  1. The initial treatment
  2. A top-up treatment one month later.

Lip Blush costs £240 and the price includes an initial consultation, a skin patch test, the procedure itself and a top-up appointment 5-13 weeks later.

A deposit of 50% will be taken when you book with the remaining balance due on the day of your first appointment.

Once your booking is confirmed, I will post a skin patch test which you will need to complete before your appointment.

Your first Lip Blush appointment will last 3-3 ½ hours and includes your consultation. The top up treatment 5-13 weeks later will take no longer than 2 ½ hours.

If you usually wear make-up, it is useful that you do so on the day of your appointment to give me an idea of how you normally wear your lipstick/blush and what kind of look you are hoping to achieve.

SPMU Lip Blush Post-appointment Care

  • Moisturising is key. It is important not to allow your lips to fully dry in order to avoid any cracking.
  • Use a good quality, natural lip balm (ie; PawPaw) and apply regularly. Be sure to apply first thing in the morning before getting up and speaking.
  • Immediately after your treatment, I’d recommend using a straw for drinking, and try not to lick your lips.
  • Be careful not to get the area wet for the first 7-14 days. You could wear a visor whilst in the shower and turn your face away from the water. If your lips do get wet it is best to blot dry.
  • Avoid any swimming activities for the first 7-14 days
  • Steer clear of steam. Avoid hot tubs, hot baths, saunas or jaccuzis for at least a week.
  • Avoid sun tanning and/or salon tanning for the first 10 days after your treatment (Please bear in mind if you have a holiday booked)
  • Avoid applying lipstick until your lips are fully healed.
  • Other than gentle cleaning, try to avoid touching the area until fully healed.
  • Avoid any laser or chemical treatments and avoid using creams which have retinols or glycolic acids on the face and neck.
  • Do not pick, rub, or scrub at any scabbing – allow it to flake off by itself. Picking or scratching at your lips may lead to scarring or removal of the pigment.
  • Once fully healed, use an SPF lip balm when exposed to sun to prolong the colour.

The SPMU Lip Blush Healing Process

The semi-permanent tattoo brow healing process works in multiple stages. Throughout this time, colour change or colour loss is to be expected as the skin heals. The true colour will not come though until about 4 weeks, which is when your touch-up appointment will be due.

  • Day 1: Some swelling or soreness should be expected along with a high colour intensity.
  • Day 2-4: Your lips will begin to dry out and the colour may appear to have gone slightly darker than anticipated. Peeling and scabbing should also be expected, and is nothing to worry about. It is important you keep your lips well moisturised during this period and avoid picking at them.
  • Day 5-6: Your lip colour may appear to have faded somewhat. Again, there is no need to panic as it is all part of the healing process.
  • Day 7-10: Your lips are now healed enough to wash, swim and exercise as normal. If the colour has faded further please don’t worry, this is completely normal. The colour will settle during the latter part of the healing process.
  • Day 30: Your lips will have completely healed, and the colour should have settled into its true shade. Remember to attend your top up appointment – this should be booked in no later than 5-13 weeks after your first appointment.
